About Our Film...

Cardboard Mansions was inspired by true events when I was homeless twenty-three years ago. I was homeless for only a few months, I was one of the lucky ones to had gotten off the streets, not like the ones I left behind, the forgotten ones that walk among us everyday. The experiences of being homeless and living on the streets was a very short time, but it opened my eyes and changed the way I think of them. Not all homeless people are looking for a hand outs, some just need a hand up.

We need some type of a system to help them, feed them, and give them ways of getting back to a normal life, off the streets... This organization was recently brought to my attention, and thank God there is a system.

These folks helps the homeless find jobs, a nice place for them to live, and get them out the streets. I encourage you to check them out, and try to support there worthily cause by volunteering your time, or by making a donation.

Please check out there website to find ways to help them. Here is a link to there website: www.LAFH.org/

One of our scenes take place in "Slid Row" in downtown Los Angeles, that day we want to shoot our film project there for the day and then afterwards we want like to help feel the homeless with the help of our cast, crew and many others, I believe we can make that happen.

A few day before we would have a special donation button on this website to dentate for that day, God willing we'll feed a lot of hungry homeless people to feed for the day, and plenty of food to feed them all...

Our project tells the story of three homeless men coming from different walks of live, and their lives living on the streets of Hollywood during the Christmas season. How they became homeless, and they fight to return back to a normal life to regain what they have lost. The story takes place in present day, and has a positive message of hope, love, forgiveness, and friendship.

We'll be shooting our feature film in late October and early November, and it will be a three week shoot. Our film locations: Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, San Monica, Downtown Los Angeles, and Santa Clarita, California.

We're looking to IndieGoGo.com to raise money for our film project. The budget for this project is $75,000, which includes equipment rentals, props, wardrobe, location permits, transportation vans, gas, and feeding our great cast and crew.
